A Creative Introduction to Warm Glass
My 3-hour taster workshops are the perfect way to discover the exciting world of warm glass.
We begin with an introduction to handling and cutting glass safely, followed by hands-on practice using “greenhouse” glass. You’ll then learn about the different types of art glass, how they behave in the kiln, and the beautiful effects you can create.
After a short break for refreshments, we’ll chat through your design ideas and plan the piece you’d like to make. The rest of the session is yours to enjoy creating your own unique glass artwork.
What’s included:
Your taster session includes all the glass needed to make a standard sun catcher (or a similar project). You’re also welcome to create something different, as long as it’s achievable within the workshop time.
If you’d like to make additional pieces, or if your design requires an extra kiln firing (for example, to shape a bowl or a wave), these can be arranged at cost price for the extra glass and kiln time. This will be clearly explained on the day, and costs are always kept low.
